Am I the only one here who doesn't make a big deal out of religion?

I'll join yuki's side. There is no afterlife. Right now everything you say, do, think, and love is just electrical and chemical happenings in your brain. Your brain shuts off, you die. End of story.
Bolded: No, you should represent yourself.
Un-bolded: But wouldn't you want to believe you go somewhere else?  It doesn't hurt to believe in an afterlife, am I not right?

It simply does not anger you.  Its great you ignore such senseless arguing while nobody is changing.

I tried explaining to my mom and dad at dinner last night that god(should the bible be correct) is a complete starfish. I even cited a story in the bible where god and Lucifer make a sort of a bet that this one guy would remain faithful to god through every hardship. And God allows Lucifer to kill the guy's family and take away his land and everything.
I was then told that my mom would not have that talk in her house. I merely chuckled to myself, my mom is hardly a devout roman catholic Christian but she seems to think she is. Regardless of the fact that my family hasn't gone to church in a few years, she seems to think that she is a good Catholic. She doesn't realize that if the bible were correct she'd be going to hell.

Also one trick pony with "tap that ass" is of course by the devil.

In Sofi Needs a Ladder with "your giving birth" is giving birth to the devil :cookieMonster:.

It's pretty easy to say "god loves everyone and watches over and protects us" when it's not your mother in the hospital bed.
hell i had cancer, i was about to die that night if I hadent noticed MYSELF that i wasen't breathing correctly, it wasent the act of a god telling me that, if there were such a thing as this "all loving all powerful god" wouldent he have preveted this in the first place? after being hospitalized for two years of young life in the hospital i began to stat doubting my religion

the the transformation completed when my loving grandfather died at age 60, he was the happiest he had ever been, he had just come home fro a cruise so me an my cousin stayed the night at our grandparents

the next morning i awoke to see paramedics....i instantly started to piece things together...and i cried
why would a loving god allow such a wonderful man to die due to a weakned arterie?

Hey, man. stuff happens.

600 years ago your moms views were very logical.  :cookieMonster:

Me and my mum have arguments about religion all the time. She stands adamant that god exists and so does astrology. Which also really annoys me.

(Not arguments like that though, I never raise my voice to my mother.)

In the Bible, it states that God does not cause sickness.

This is kinda like me and my mom, she is anti-war to the greatest extent and will do everything in her power to try and convince me to side with her because I love war games and violence, she gets all mad and upset because she hears people screaming and people stuck to the wall on TF2 and says please stop playing that game, I will get you two games if you just stop playing that one, I asked if she would get me black ops as a joke and she cigaretteged out.  I am still listening to YOU LIKE THAT SATIN WORSHIPING GAME ASDF ARGGGG /cigarettegout.  I understand how your moms terms on religion is discuraging you, I think the best way for you guys to understand each other is to just simply say: "Mom, I understand it is not what you belive but my terms are different than yours.  And then get into a logical conversation and try to fix as many probs as possible...  My mom still does not like TF2, but at least she does not think that mind flex is a satanic game.....  It uses parts of the human brain that we usually don't use, not evil powers of wizzardry lol.

In the Bible, it states that God does not cause sickness.
And it doesn't cure sickness either.

The very fact that everything you do, say, think, speak, perceive, feel, smell or see is all the result of your neurological system is enough to disprove any sort of afterlife for me.
Yes he cares a lot about you and me. Maybe its time for your mom to return to him, and live a better life.
This sentence is downright insulting.
I could not even begin to imagine how I would feel if the same thing happened to my mom, and I'm sorry for the state she is in.
No, you absolutely cannot.

Sometimes the innocent must suffer in order to punish the wicked.
This makes no sense in any way shape or form and you'd have to be handicapped to believe something so apestuff. Like spaceguy said; If god is all-powerful, he doesn't need to make the innocent suffer, but even more so:
Why punish the bad? Why? God is all-loving right? I personally don't want to see people suffer, I don't want evil people to "burn in hell". Maybe it's because I'm not a sick forget that wants 'souls' to spend an eternity in hell, but that's just me. If you ask me, god is a loving sociopath, and not worthy of the title "god".

Is it not gods right to govern the universe?
He's not even "governing" it. Your god lets evil thrive and goodness die, and refuses to simply eliminate it (he is ALL POWERFUL, after all).
We might suffer for the short time we have here but those who stay righteous will reap the rewards in the life to come. With out the knowledge of my savior and his father, life would be empty for me.
Then I pity you.

You also forget the other part of religion, the afterlife. What happens when we die? What becomes of us? Our god is a caring god and I believe this to be true. If you wish to know then pray to him and ask for your self, If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him James 1:5.
Quote the bible, I'll quote the Lovecraft:
Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn

My point here is that you have no ounce of proof that your literature was written by a god, and not by a man (a man with really illogical and fundamentally stupid stories). So, if you quote fiction, I'll return the favor.

As for the afterlife: There isn't one. It's an impossibility, especially hell (logically and scientifically).

Now, are you through trying to explain why your god is killing my mother in order to fulfill his sociopathic and masochistic urges of torture and punishment?

She needs to ease it down a bit. As for the blue ball levitation thingy, just say it's not "telekenCIA." say it's just a machine that measures brainwaves and uses them to make the ball move a little bit. not supernatural.

I have a question that I legitimately want answered:
Considering these few things that are outlined in virtually all religious text and arguments; them being:
-God is omnipotent. It can see all, it knows all.
-God created the universe, therefore it can create matter and energy or anything it very well pleases.
-God created humanity, the seraphim, the cherub, St. Peter, St. Joseph, and Lucifer.
-God created heaven, hell, and purgatory.
-God's power is unlimited.
-God loves all of its creations, especially humanity.

I'd like to know:
-Why is god such a sociopath?
-Why is god sadistic and malevolent?
-(Creating a place of eternal fire and torture and pain for "evil", creating life and taking it away, playing mind games   with humans [pandoras box for example]).
-Why such an arbitrary schema for the judgement of "souls"?
-Why judge souls at all, why not only create good?
-Why create evil?
-Why not provide actual proof of its existence so we can stop killing each other and having wars over "who is right"?
-Why would god flood the world rather than simply eliminate evil or enlighten man?
-Where did all the water go from the great flood?
-(Current diameter of the earth: 12,756.2km (1.2756×10^7 meters), highest point being 8,848m above sea level, total volume of water currently on the earth being 326,000,000,000,000,000,000 gallons, also considering virtually no continental drift as it was supposedly only a few thousand years ago, someone do the math for me?)
-Who wrote the bible?
-Who reprinted the bible?
-Cite material referencing the existence of Jesus that isn't the Bible.
-What are dinosaurs if the world is only so young?
-Explain Pangaea and continental drift as contradicted by the Bible.
-Explain the reason for multiple religions and their encounters with "god".
-Why would god effectively destroy a unified humanity on purpose?
-("They are one people and have one language, and nothing will be withholden from them which they purpose to do.")

Just a few things. I mean, these are only minor details in the grand scheme of things.

Partially your fault, Deadmau5's music isn't trance

The majority of his music is Progressive House
