Also the message above is what it says when i try to register after all the areas in the thing are filled out.

What FTP client are you using?

If it can't accept the standard and default FTP port used by the majority of FTP servers, then you need a new FTP client.

I'm going to write something quickly that does response testing by packets. Hopefully I can implement it in something broader such as testing actual server connectivity, not just knowing that the process is running.
