I was thinking about it in a context like so:
5 points for file management,
5 points for usability
x points for power
etc etc
5+5+x+blah=25
max points = 25
25/25 = full points
5 / 5 points
points = stars

not neccesarily that i was rating him in comparison to 4 other services.

You can't think about things in a Blockland context, Jetz. Game server hosting services weren't invented by Kalphiter.
Alright, fair enough. A few other people should get their reviews in quick so we can start betting on which one Lub will reply to with intent to taunt Kalphiter some more.

Controlling the server is made as easy as possible with the extemely convenient, cross-platform remote_client.jar. With an extremely clean (yet slightly dated looking) interface, the system allows you to start and stop your server with the click of a button, and evaluate lines of code with yet another. The best part for me, as a scripter, was the ability to see the results of my code with the amazing console viewing mechanism.
While I don't intend to get mixed up in this Kalphiter-Lub mess, I have to ask: We did get the same remote_client.jar, right?

Oh forget off haha. People aren't going to boycott a quality service because the guy who runs it is a richard. My attitude doesn't interfere with their experience using the service so what's the problem? There are a handful of people making their hate for me known and thousands of users who just get on with their lives and enjoy using what I've built for them.

Most people think Rub's a richard (he is) yet I guarantee the vast majority of Kalphiter's users will be moving over to his service because it's so much more advanced and comprehensive.

Take your anti-me stuff over to my drama thread and let us continue to discuss this abomination of a hosting service.
how many times are you going to compulsively drop "haha"s?

i think you need to see a doctor.

edit: and then i read the ending bit and cringed. your maturity has somehow dropped even further, from "well you don't run this professionally wah wah wah" to "you wanna go son?!!?!?!"

start, stop, console, eval

not much more you need. simple. to the point.

admittedly, i used wireshark to figure out kalphiters setup and made my own client with torquescript, but besides thatyeah. simple yet ugly. thank you java!

Disconnects without warning periodically, has to be resized for it to be visible initially, stretching the window does not resize components, no login info saving, no easy to use administration tools, scrolling the console window is a pain in the ass, no easy way to view the chat... Yes it technically functions, and yes, adding certain things would just be unnecessary clutter (which he also did), but there is so much room for improvement.

i didn't say it worked.. i just said it was easy to use...

:(

And I said it technically did work, and that it wasn't easy to use. At least, it's difficult to use it to administrate a server. If you want to run a single line of code, I'll concede that's pretty easy; type it in the box and hit the button.

and frankly, that's all the average user will be doing. Any more, and they'll make their own external eval command.

That doesn't excuse the errors.

Then I guess I'm just one of the crazy minority who'd like to be able to control the server easily.

Nice review Lugnut, shame it's completely invalid due to the fact you don't care about the obvious shortcomings because you don't pay.

Pretty sweet deal tbh, get free hosting in return for posting a positive review in a thread on a forum. I'd be tempted!!

It's lovely how you're wasting time like this and not working on your service.
