I think it would work better if after it came into contact with anything, it would drop to the ground, but if not, it would return. If it hits a player, they take some (10-25) damage, and slow them by about 75% for 3 or so seconds, making head-shoting scouts much easier. You would get 3 on spawn, or restock at spawn. It would take 10 second to retrieve a single boomerang, or walking over a boomerang will restock 1 instantly, such as that of the sandman with a bigger inventory. Some drawback will be that it is a difficult weapon to use, as it has a strange trajectory, but hitting someone is all the more rewarding. It would also take up your secondary slot.
