Author Topic: Building a computer(updated list)  (Read 3145 times)

Righteous, I'm using almost all of my 600GB HDD and that's even before I load my media library on. That's all games.

Most people don't have 100 games (Games are about 6gb).

You will need to wait a little bit for more sandy-bridge mobos to come out. Intel is the only one who has released them so far. If you wait about a month I'm sure alot more will be available. It's definitely worth it, though. The 1366 cheap has been out for something like 3 years.

That mobo isn't feature-rich either. If you are going to build a computer now it should have at least USB 3 support. Socket 1366 chips should use RAM in multiples of 3, not 2. So you can't really go with an 8gb kit.

Of course, that doesn't really matter because it would be stupid to buy an i7 now anyways.

I can't contemplate why everyone thinks they need a 1tb harddrive. Are you really going to use that much? Most people never go over 500gb even with an assload of games.
I wouldn't listen to this, more hard drive space is always good, especially if you're going to use this computer for a long time.

How so?

If anything, more space makes it worse. It just lets people think that they can clutter it with stuff. The amount of time you own a computer should no affect how much you use. If you run out of space, buy another harddrive.

By your logic, everyone should only buy a 100GB hard drive, because they could just buy more.

Get an extended PhysX card. It makes some games have high-quality physics if PhysX is enabled and you have a PhysX graphics card.

Physx isn't really needed. I never said that anyone should get 100gb. I just simply asked if he would ever use 1tb. Common misconception against people. Your logic suggests that everyone should spend as much money as possible on the largest harddrive because it will make their computer last longer. I wish that you could understand your reasoning, I'm very interested to hear it...

Tis why I have a 1TB. :D

Intel is overpriced. You can get an awesome AMD processor for a cheaper price.

Would it be as fast?

Would it be as fast?

Hell yeah. And AMD boards are cheaper, too. With the money you save, you can get a better graphics card. And you don't need 1000W. Get atleast 650W.
