That guitar seems pretty good.
Dean is generally a good first purchase. But only that, a first purchase. They have great starter packs, just make sure that the guitar you do buy isn't 3/4 size.
As Anti-Block said, you cant buy a guitar until you have held it in your hands. I actually highly prefer a fat neck, while the "norm" is a skinny neck. I don't mind whatever wacky shape the guitar is, because I play low to my waist. It all depends on the user.
Also, you may want to consider an acoustic guitar. You can get one now and play some excellent music. Bands like Green Day, Led Zeppelin, The Who, and many others have a large focus on acoustic guitars. But that depends on the music you want to play.
Some of my picks:
Acoustic:
Ibanez PC25WC - I have a very similar guitar, the sound is pretty good and it feels really nice to hold.
Fender T Bucket 300 - Acoustic/Electric, really nice, low price.
Electric:
Ibanez Jumpstart Package - Ibanez is a good company for cheap guitars, and this doesn't seem too bad.
Epiphone Les Paul - IMO, Epiphone is the king of cheap guitars in quality. Usually most expensive though. Good guitar.
Also, if you go into a guitar center, skim the used section. They are in pretty good condition generally and at really low prices.
I have only 2 years of guitar experience, so take it as you want to :P
