There's no save files in my ~/.minecraft folder.
Though it does exist.

There is a bin folder, and in that, four .jar files and a "version" along with a "natives" folder with 6 .so files.

EDIT: I'm running the .exe version on wine, btw, if that helps.

Oh, and when I try to install actual java, this happens:

Done.

What's rpm: not found, mean?
Never install software from a website unless it's a deb or shell script.
Install java by searching IcedTea and JavaJDK in the Software Center.

RPMS IS A NONO ON UBUNTU. .deb is the way to go.

also, mack you should add the links to 10.04.

If I can get Java to work on Ubuntu to play Minecraft, then it has my download.

RPMS IS A NONO ON UBUNTU. .deb is the way to go.
Misread as "RPGS ARE A NONO ON UBUNTU"

Trying Ubuntu on virtual box, seems okay so far. Like any OS when you just start, somewhat cool, but you don't feel anything too special about it yet.

It's free.  :cookieMonster:

Plus it runs on just about anything.
Even my DS.

Everything I want is a rpm.
And this "Alien" converter thing I found dosn't do anything. :c Help me.

I have Ubuntu 10.10 and it runs great, but every so often the computer freezes and i have to force restart it...any help?

If I ever get a laptop, before I do anything I sure as heck am installing Ubuntu.  :cookieMonster:

Wait what?
DSLinux, it has a ported Pixl desktop but you need a slot 2 cart and a homebrew launcher.

But it's not Ubuntu, even though Ubuntu supports Arm7 and Arm9 it won't run.

Edit: If you somehow get Ubuntu to run on only 4MB of RAM (8 MB if you get an expensive slot 2 card) I will personally go to your house and hug you.

Installed it last night. Deleted it last night.

It's free.  :cookieMonster:
i know it's free how do you think i'm running it?

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.

Sudo apt-get remove Windows
:D

I used Ubuntu entirely yesterday
I got HnH to work, but Steam would crash on startup so I eventually just went back to Windows the next day. It's awesome.
