Pokémon Black Version and White Version comprise the upcoming fifth generation of the core Pokémon series of RPGs. The games are set to be released on September 18, 2010, in Japan. As of August 2010, there have been a total of 28 new Pokémon officially announced, two of which debuted in the thirteenth Pokémon film in Japanese theaters on July 10, 2010. The games will be released outside Japan in the second quarter of 2011. As of August 2010, Black and White are the fastest DS games to reach one million consumer pre-orders in Japan.
A new region was introduced for this generation. The Isshu region is known to be far away from the regions of previous generations. The temporal setting for the Generation V games is also unknown, as it may or may not be contemporaneous with any of the previous four generations.
The Generation V games will be able to communicate with the five Generation IV games, probably much in the same way that the Generation II games could communicate with the Generation I games, with trades being possible between them of Pokémon and Pokémon with moves that were present in Generation IV, with event Pokémon distributed to Generation IV games already known to unlock special events in the Generation V games. It is unknown if dual-slot mode and Pal Park, integral to Generation IV's communication with Generation III, will be present, though Pokémon caught in a Generation III game will be able to move forward to Generation V at the very least by passing through Generation IV games.
-Weather conditions and the current time are now displayed on the bottom screen during battle when making selections as to what to do during the turn.-Pokémon now move constantly throughout battle, with animations reminiscent of those of Pokémon Crystal, rather than the two-sprite distortion method that has been the standard since Pokémon Emerald.-The in-game camera is capable of switching angles at will, rather than being locked depending on the location as it is in Generation IV, showing off more 3D areas.-Triple battles are now a part of gameplay.
In addition to the improved graphics, a number of aesthetic changes have been made from previous generations, including an altered battle scene containing fully animated Pokémon battle sprites as well as a dynamic camera that changes focus to highlight specific parts of the battle. Also, when talking to people in select environments, like a Pokémon Center and Poké Mart, speech balloons for dialog will appear over people's heads.
The games also have the capacity to connect to the internet; players can upload their save file and play online.
It's pictures like this that make me want this game.I am excited, I hope it will be better then Diamond/Pearl or HeartGold/SoulSilver were.
