So you're saying that people like this should be allowed to preach this wherever and whenever they want. You're saying that they should be able to get a license to start a radio station and broadcast this 24/7, uncensored. With the kind of money they make they could probably buy a few frequencies, and then it would be almost inescapable. Wow...
Yes. I am. Silencing them is one step toward fascism, one step away from our ideologies. They have the right to air their opinion, no matter how offensive. It's part of what makes this country great; Anyone can say what they want without fear of persecution like in the USSR or national socialist Germany. Yeah, I downright loving detest Westboro, I wish someone would mow them down with an Uzi, but the government has no right to stop them, and we have no right to demand their censorship. In China, speaking ill about the government gets you blackbagged, never to be seen again. It doesn't matter how loving offensive or ignorant something is, they have the right to say it regardless. Look at Glenn Beck, he says stupid bullstuff, and people listen - but we will not silence him because he has a right to say whatever the forget he wants.

The absolute ONLY exception is if the statement/words in question actually cause bodily or property harm, like shouting fire in a movie theater and people getting trampled, because that infringes on other people's rights.

I'm saying regulation on TV and Radio since it influences our culture so vastly whether it be for the better or worse.

As much as it sucks to admit, most people just aren't ready to hear some things.

I'm not even sure if that should be regulated. I mean, I understand trying to instill proper ethical ideals in children so we mitigate what they see, but what does censoring "swear" words say about our society, that we're too immature and unreasonable to just deal with words that we engineered in the first place?

I'm talking about censoring hateful and potentially dangerous speech. If you get the right person standing there with a microphone on prime-time television, you can change the entire world.

And Glenn Beck is that person.

Inciting something directly should be a crime -- such as telling everyone to go kill their children meaningfully. However, if someone desecrates a material and some psycho hurts this person, then this is not incitement.

outside of government is it okay to make someone stop verbally being a douche?

I don't understand "outside of government"

Honestly, I agree, anyone has the freedom to say what they want, and why would we invent "swear" words if it was unethical to actually utter them or say them?

Of course. My argument revolves around the government silencing the people - something that should be feared and treated as an atrocity. One civilian punching the other in the face for saying friend is irrelevant.

i wasn't really implying punching someone but okay

It's justified to say hateful things about a black person if he killed all your family, but it's different if someone is saying hateful things to a black person just because he's black.
You wouldn't be saying things to this guy if he killed your family because he would be in jail. Saying it's "different" doesn't reveal if it's justified or not, just that it's different. Which could mean anything.

dangerous speech
His words killed my dad, and raped my mother!

ya i probabley would

So I'm guessing that all of you think that what Charles Manson did was okay then since he didn't physically harm anyone.
