And this is why I vote yes.
Because people already have the ability to regulate what the can hear, the government needs to force people to do so?
That's just stupid.

And this is why I vote yes.
You voted yes because of a reason that is for not regulating it?

no, hate speech would be considered politicly incorrect and deemed a taboo by society, therefore there wouldn't be very much hate speech to begin with. if the government didn't control hate speech then there would be a lot more freedom of expression.

Just because it's not in the constitution doesn't mean it's not a human right.

One thing I would like to bring up is that there is a difference between prejudice slurs and someone saying hateful things because they are angry for a good reason. Sure, sometimes the line can get blurry, but I think there should be different levels of tolerance.

People forget they can turn off the TV.
Because they forget they have this ability, they need to be protected from their own neglect.

Because they forget they have this ability, they need to be protected from their own neglect.
That's the dumbest stuff I've read this week, and I read a magazine in Wal-Mart that said Bigfoot was getting married to Pamela Anderson.

Next opinions poll should be something about the 21st.

i expected better from you :o

Multiple warnings because everyone is allowed to have an opinion, but when they won't stop with screaming out their hate opinion all the time, it soon becomes forced on others, this is where regulating kicks in. But I still don't support punishing them if the hate is justified.

angry for a good reason
A reason is a reason, unless it's explained further you look stupid saying it's "a good reason" or that you, for example, got banned "for no good reason" and stuff like that.

Peoples narrowmindedness and stupidity always requires regulation on everything. If the government didn't regulate everything that we did, it'd be sheer chaos simply because we need to live in fear of punishment to achieve anything, and to live a somewhat normal life. A regulation of hate speech is completely necessary, some peoples stupidity (unfortunatly, the place most of this is biased from is America), far surpasses knowing that something they say could infact hurt someones feelings. Granted, there is no way to regulate hate speech except putting a shock collar on everyone, and when they say friend it shocks them.

I think D3ATH phrased what I'm trying to say very well. It's justified to say hateful things about a black person if he killed all your family, but it's different if someone is saying hateful things to a black person just because he's black.

I'm all for freedom of speech, but I think there should be some regulations when the speech is public or it's being broadcasted.

Just loving unbelievable. Sorry Warren, Monocle just one-upped you on the "forgettard" scale.

Hat speech can be a lot more offensive then someone calling you a "friend".

So you're saying that people like this should be allowed to preach this wherever and whenever they want. You're saying that they should be able to get a license to start a radio station and broadcast this 24/7, uncensored. With the kind of money they make they could probably buy a few frequencies, and then it would be almost inescapable. Wow...
