Edit: I think I found a problem in the English version of Pokemon Black. In the building where the person frisks you before you go up the elevator, speak to the guy topmost left. He is speaking Dutch or German or something. I'll write it out in a second, minute the accented letters.

All I do is use my starter the whole game and the rest of my party is backup while I revive or HMs/TMs (used outside battles). Although my 4 legendary dog Pokemon kick ass for the moment...
