Author Topic: How To Lucid Dream  (Read 33592 times)

I would really, really love to do this.
However, since I'm a huge coward, the concept of scary, distorted images in mirrors and everything
scares me. Also, I've heard that using the WILD method to achieve lucid dreaming is outright terrifying. Is it?

Actually, let me tell you...

The story of Banana's first and only lucid dream.

It began as a completely ususal night. I went to sleep.
However, I then began to become aware of the dream.
The thing is, I felt like my right eye was open, allowing me to see my duvet and bed.
I manage to do one thing in this dream, and one thing only...

Walk upstairs...

And throw my damn jacket on the floor?!

Thinking back though, I'm happy for one reason:
We have a huge mirror in our hallway. I walked right past it.
It was none-existant. Oh, as I mentioned I'm scared of scary stuff, mirrors in dreams, that is.

You'll only see scary stuff if you believe you'll see scary stuff in the mirror.

Yes, but now it's a catch 22.

I'm going to be all like: OH NO MIRROR!
Then it's going to be all like: AAAH HEADS FALLING OUT THROUGH THE MIRROR!

I frequently RC in dreams if they're frightening, but then I just pull myself out of it without thinking.

EDIT:
What's the chance for success when you're trying to have your first lucid dream?

I had a non-lucid dream that was oddly vivid.
I usually have extremely non-vivid dreams.
It's like I'm looking at everything through water, most of the time.
Anyway, my dream involved me opening and closing a closet, and at the last moment, when I last expected it, I opened it to see that through it was a sort of mirrored world identical to the one I was standing in, except I could walk in and out of it as if the closet was just a little archway.
Odd.

I'm scared of scary stuff, mirrors in dreams, that is.
I'm scared of mirrors in the dark.

loving bloody mary myth.

I feel lucid dreaming is unsafe for some reason.

Well its not so get over it.

Well its not so get over it.
That comment was not necessary. Did you have to be so rude about it, Josh.

That comment was not necessary.

You must have read it wrongly.

Coming here saying you think its unsafe is pointless. Anyone who is educated on the subject knows its not, you don't need to try to scare people who are already freaking out over sleep paralysis.

I almost had a lucid dream last night. In my dream I said something along the lines of: "I feel like playing pokemon today." but then I remembered that I had a band concert and the only loving reason I would blow that off for a video game is nonexistent, in that I would never miss it. So I was like, holy forget this is a dream, then I loving woke up. I'm sad.

Did you get over excited? Because that wakes a lot of people up in their first lucid dreams. They realize they are asleep, go OMFG then wake up. :3

Probably. ;_;

The thing is, I had only been practicing trying to get a lucid dream for like two days.

First day: No dream

Second day: Dream. almost lucid. woke up immediately after realizing it was a dream.
