Is a circle a polygon? WHILE CIRCLE HAS INFINITE SIDES.

Yes. Because I can see that your mathematical evidence, and the evidence provided by other people, proves it.
No. Because I looked at all the mathematical proof and have determined that in no plausible way is a circle a polygon.

Stocking used what I think is the method to find the fraction of a decimal, basic Algebra 1 stuff.
that's what's called "rounding up," grasshopper

She just stated x = 0.999... then changed it to x = 1? [/rounded]

Anyway, back to my half-assed thoughts on the subject, the formula for finding the area is similar because they're both shapes, but by definition, a polygon has a set number of straight sides, while a circle is theoretically a perfect curve, which is why you actually find the area with a different formula than you do with a polygon.

And if you're going to treat it like a perfect curve with infinite "sides", what's the point in ever referring to it as a polygon?

exactly. and if we're being exact, (which is not rounding), 0.999 repeating can never equal 1

I fail to see how what I said was wrong. Convince me...

It is nearly impossible to convince someone wrong without first convincing someone you that you are right. And by convincing someone that you are right, which I already did, you also convince them that they are wrong.

I just convinced you that you are wrong.

because we like being difficult  :cookieMonster:

My math teacher said curves = lol no polygon
but clearly that's wrong because what if you had a 360decagon or something

but clearly that's wrong because what if you had a 360decagon or something
THEN THAT WOULDN'T BE CONSIDERED A CIRCLE NOW WOULD IT

because we like being difficult  :cookieMonster:

Moreover, we like telling the truth.

Since the formula to find the area of a circle and the formula to find the area of a regular polygon end up equating each other, I proved it.

not to mention how it's not Algebra 1 stuff
it's </=fifth grade stuff

I need only to press F5 after waiting for five seconds to see new post.

Not to sound condescending but why hasn't Gamefandan responded to a single thing I've said?

You're all beyond handicapped, I usually never insult people directly but damn, right now I'm confused as to whether /lol, /facepalm, or /headdesk.

well that's fine and dandy but 0.9 repeating is still never equal to 1

wait. the first link was exactly what you said - you had to google it? lol friend
