At a point you'll fall through the ground if you go continuously in a direction in a map like Plate2, Plate3, Slate etc.
And not to mention that most infinite maps on Blockland just wrap around in an infinite loop. I honestly have no idea how that works. Could someone explain?
Sort of a biased question because this is the BLOCKLAND Forums, but what the heck. Go ahead, answer it. I do not relate the two because they are completely different other than the "build andything" philosophy. Here's a list I made to help you make your mind up:MinecraftPros: Better than infinite mining. AI is better. You don't have to fiddle with minigames. Huge, custom maps with much more space than Blockland maps.Cons: 16 bit graphic. Laggy on most computers. Buggy. Slow multiplayer with seperate server launcher.BlocklandPros: Way better graphics. Better multiplayer. Virtually no bugs. More features. You don't have to enter IPs to enter a server.Cons: No good survival minigame with all of the features of Minecraft. Can't get new texture packs.
Blockland+ Great multiplayer experience+ Great building system+ Nice network API+ Great add-on system+ Great add-ons+ Okay community(most of it, at least)- Glitchy physics- Mediocre lightingMinecraft+ Cool Gameplay+ Cool mods+ Appropriate textures+ Nice lighting engine (as of Beta 1.3)- Terrible network API (a Blockland server hosted on a 5-year old home PC is faster than a MC server hosted on a real network server.- Terrible add-on system- Bad community
I made a better comparison, even though the games really cannot be compared.Blockland+ Great multiplayer experience+ Nice network API+ Great add-on system- Glitchy physics- Mediocre lighting- Ugly texturesMinecraft+ Survival is awesome (SO MUCH TO EXPLORE :D)+ Cool mods+ Appropriate textures+ Nice lighting engine (as of Beta 1.3)- Terrible network API (a Blockland server hosted on a 5-year old home PC is faster than a MC server hosted on a real network server.Well, I tried.
But this looks pretty lovey
MinecraftPros: Better than infinite mining. AI is better. You don't have to fiddle with minigames. Huge, custom maps with much more space than Blockland maps.Cons: 16 bit graphics. -Arg. I prefer gameplay over graphics. This shouldn't even be a con. Laggy on most computers. Buggy. -Please say this when minecrafts out of beta. Slow multiplayer with seperate server launcher.BlocklandPros: Way better graphics. -Ahem. See above. Better multiplayer. Virtually no bugs. -Every game has bugs. Fly really far away from your spawn point in slate. More features. You don't have to enter IPs to enter a server.Cons: No good survival minigame with all of the features of Minecraft. -Its up to the community to make that. Not badspots. He can make it if he wants though. Can't get new texture packs. -Yes you can. Its not as easy though.
Minecraft is too pixaly, and boxy, squary.About boxy, inb4boxxy.Also, another con for Blockland: Port Fowarding.
