So god can't simply reveal himself but he can answer your guys' prars, send people to heaven and hell, make sure none of you are sinning, and take care of everything else? If god really is all powerful, surely he could do more than that.

Personally, I believe God does reveal 'Himself', each and everyday. God gave us our world and gave us the power of choice. He gave us all we need to experience His magnificent creations and, in turn, add to it. I do not believe God made us to worship him. But often, when He communicate with us, when He obviously intervenes, people feel the need to spread the message that we
have to believe in Him instead of that He believes in us....
In short, I suppose what I'm trying to say is that, in my view, God wants us to Love each other (Which would also be Loving God) instead of being so preoccupied with fearing Him. Such is why He doesn't go to each person saying "Hey, I'm God, nice seeing you." then whoosh off to be with his Heavenly pals.
