Terraria: Khorde's symphony of emotional awesomeness.
Before I explain in depth about anything, let's get some frequently asked questions out of the way.
FAQS:
Q: So Khorde, how come you like Terraria more than Minecraft? Isn't Terraria a rip off of Minecraft anyway?
A: Haha, if you compare Minecraft to terraria, and continue to argue that the two are one in the same you're
dead wrong. I like Terraria more than Minecraft for a variety of reasons.
1) Terraria has bosses. It has actual goals to meet. Minecraft, before it's "final" release did not have a boss.
2) The music is stunningly awesome. It overflows the player with nostalgia and this sense of appeal not felt in games today. It's genuine. It's pristine. It's 16-bit.
3) The items are really amazing, unique, and well coded! The hook in this game works amazingly well. The weapons all have varied intensities and extraordinary side effects. The accessories are something a player could only dream of in a game.
4) The fast paced action of this game. Rarely do I pick up Minecraft and have a speed dual with my friends using bows with FLAMING ARROWS and loving remote controlled missiles.
5)NPC functionality. They actually talk to you.... they help you... know you... they're your friends.... *sniff*
Q: Man this game is boring... how do you find it so fun?
A: I'm probably guessing you've never so much as found a golden chest or made yourself some cool items have you?
This game has randomly generated caves... floating islands... treasure galore and monsters and easter eggs out the ass. How the forget is this boring? The only way I'd find it boring is if someone gave me full endgame gear as soon as I started playing the game.
Q: Why do you start new characters all the time?
A: Terraria is a new game for me every time. Sometimes I set a different goal each time I play, whether it's to achieve a certain item, or just beat the game on Hardcore mode (again). It's fun to play this game with a lot of friends and help them feel that awesome feeling you feel as well :).
My summary of Terraria:
When you first look at this game, you see a baby looking RPG that strikes one as a Maplestory+Minecraft mash up. Ohoho, beware naive one. You have just stumbled upon Terraria! The game where anything can happen! Have you ever tried to walk upside down in a game? You can in Terraria. Have you ever wondered what it'd be like to shoot a gun inside of a castle while fighting off a goblin hoard? You can in Terraria. Have you ever tried to swim in lava, grapple up walls, double jump, have endless amount of spells, or run faster than you can see? Terraria is your game buddy. I'm sure if you're a true-blue NES-SNES fan, you're going to fall head over heels for this lovely game. The developers know what their community wants... and unlike most devs, they deliver. The world is your canvas in Terraria... and the ground itself is your paint. Build. Explore. Live. Love. Have great memories. This game sure has lots of them.
So before you go out and judge this game from all those lies and propaganda you've been hearing, play it. Terraria is worth 10$. The best 10 bucks you'll ever spend.
This is Terraria.
