Like the Muramasa, the name is likely a reference to a Japanese sword, the Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi (Grass-Cutting Sword). It's the most famous named sword in Japanese historic folklore. However, the name could be a pun on grass itself, as the individual grass strands are called "blades".
