Author Topic: School, believe it or not, is mostly pointless. (Shut up and read this.)  (Read 5656 times)

You only use [sic] when you're directly quoting somebody. There were no quotation marks in that sentence.

Agh, I hate refined English, communication should be simple and to the point. Why do I even try to strive for a higher perfection of my vernacular?

this is the internet, kids. if you use full words and have decent punctuation and spelling, no one cares.

I like using my shift key though.

Speak black English, there'd be no way in hell anyone could correct you, and if they did you could claim that they just didn't understand the dialect.

Especially not English teachers, or Taboo.

i use my shift key fo exclamation points and almost nothing else when i'm here. it isn't too important though because it gnerally looks fine, unless a sentence starts with "I," because it just looks weird. i think so at least.

now you're catching on.

If you ever go on to do a degree in Astrophysics, the equations get so big that investment banks headhunt Astrophysicists, because similarly big equations pop up in investment banking, and Astrophysicists are of the few folk who can do equations that big.

/life

it doesn't actually matter if you'll "use" those classes in real life, if a potential employer sees that you're too stupid and lazy to succeed in highschool (which is very easy to do) they wont even bother interviewing you, regardless of the relevance of the classes you took to the job. for better jobs than fast food, i mean.

I had some much emotion rush into my thoughts when I began reading this thread, that I nearly lost hope in humanity. Then I remembered, this guy isn't most of humanity, he is just one person.

Anyways, you're stupid, all of those subjects are useful and standard to a successful contributor to society.

I find it ridiculous that this topic hasn't been locked yet.

Tell me OP, if you are so good at grammar, correct this sentence as it were your own using only punctuation:

Lucy was going to the barn Friday However her uncle John who ownd the farm died in a car accident Thursday.
.. lol.. Ok..

Lucy was going to the barn Friday. However, her uncle, John, who owned the farm, died in a car accident Thursday.

EDIT: You guys need to get your Goddamn facts straight. I said this before; I havn't failed a single grade. I dont have bad grades and I'm not going to fail. Stop saying "This is coming from the kid that got held back" or anything similar. Oh, and yes, I am madbro.

Also, the reason I'm not locking the topic is because I'm not afraid of being flamed. I'd like to see the opinions of you all, wether it's good, bad, or just plain-ass mean.
