Man, I really fell out of this game.

Whenever I play it's only 100% crits, which has really weakened me.
I don't know how to play a normal server. If someone would give me some tips maybe I can give some weps or metal.

I was just thinking about this yesterday. Valve nailed the f2p model perfectly with TF2.

The total cost to get access to everything for each player is a minimum of $5. The money Valve makes from small in-game purchases (upgrading accounts and normal purchases) far surpasses what they would have made from selling retail at full price over the same time period, but to each consumer, the price is really cheap, almost a steal. On top of that, Valve constantly releases content updates and bug fixes, which keeps players coming back, and keeps bringing new players in, even almost 5 years after the games release.

Not only is it a good business model for bringing in players to TF2, think of how many people downloaded Steam just to play TF2, then realized how great Steam is as a marketplace, a subsequently made purchases of other games.
