The increased damage from fire and something else won't matter with how fast you're killing.

The Targe has less attack prowess than the Screen but more increased resistance and vice versa.

They are basically equal in power, but you use them for different situations.

There is no 'easy mode' or 'hard mode' unless there is a weapon that is obviously overpowered or under powered or requires great skill for getting multiple kills.
