Author Topic: I'm no longer confused and quite content: The story of a man and his laptop  (Read 4684 times)

ask him for it, if he says no just take it, its yours and you paid for it.

listen dude it may not be the best idea, but if you don't get it back by the time you get out of the house, take it to court and sue your dad. you said your parents are divorced right? when the finances were split, did he ever get permissions to take the computer? if not then the decision is made whether you want to or not. its your responsibility as a citizen to tell the police these things anyways.

I'm trying to avoid completely raging and/or getting the law involved.

its just a laptop...

I'm trying to avoid completely raging and/or getting the law involved.

no.
ask him nicely and if he keeps saying no slowly evolve yourself into an angrier form of yourself. if he's not handicapped he will notice you are being serious and give it back.

did he catch you jacking off on skype?

its just a laptop...

It's the most expensive thing I own.

It's the most expensive thing I own.
see? just take it to court

you even said yourself that you were becoming paranoid over it

tell your dad to give you your loving computer back or you will call the police. if your parents are divorced and your mom bought the computer with her credit card, even if you payed her in cash, it's theft. if he refuses, call the loving police. what's he going to do? if he breaks it he goes to jail, if gives it back you get your computer back. you're smart enough to remove any viruses or key loggers he might have put on there. also, did you get caught storing pictures of your snake on there?
I agree.

You are of legal age to, well, be "too old for this crap". As far as I know it's illegal for him to essentially steal your possessions.

just take it to court

would you sue your own father for it?

I agree.

Fight for your right

listen to these guys dude, take it to court and fight for your right.

go to him and say " dad, can i have my laptop back?" he will say no. say "dad, give me my laptop back" he will say no. say "father, i will call the police if you don't give me my laptop" if he still says no pull out your phone and call the police. if he tries to get the phone away from you punch him in the face and say he tried to attack you.

Regarding all of the people who keep asking him about what happened:
Even if you did guess it right, it's very unlikely that he would let you know that you were right.
So there's absolutely no point in asking.

So far I'm liking the "ask for it, otherwise ask for it seriously, otherwise just take it, otherwise take legal action" thing.
