I hate it because it's the same generic alien vs superhuman stuff x4. Does that make me a hipster friend?
Hating a FPS for having space marines and aliens makes you a
stupid friend. If you wanted an FPS RPG, you had things like Elder Scrolls and King's Field during the reign of Halo: CE. The game doesn't try to sell itself on story, the story is only there to string together shooty-explosion sequences for your amusement, it's a game, not an interactive story.
If you're seriously going to neglect polished gems because of cliched themes, you're ruling out the entire Battlefield franchise, the Call of Duty franchise, Killzone, and Resistance.
Whoa now, I am 21 years old. I've been playing Duke Nukem since I was 6 years old. My father played Duke Nukem too.
It's funny because you act like you're 12.
ITT: Complain about Halo.
I played Halo 1, I liked it. I don't think it's game of the year, but it's all right.
Besides, Microsoft/Bungee must have done something right to get as many players as it does.
I hated the part in the single player where you're in the Flood compound and all the rooms are copy+pasted in a way that you get lost. The multiplayer was what made it shine though, and I forgive lazy level design for the multiplayer experience the game gave.
