Yorick is so boring. You can just w behind their minions to chase other laner away and then just farm all day.. i hate playing him because i just stay in lane till 18 and it's just so loving boring D:
running flash-clarity on him gives him best sustain ever, if you use him correctly you can just dominate and you should have just enough time on cd of clarity to waste all your mana poke/farming. although i do agree that he is a great laner.
one game i stayed inlane as him vs an olaf (i was like lvl 25 at that point; he was 30 with over 800 wins.. don't know how that worked) and i stayed in lane till 18 and the olaf was getting really mad about that for some reason. i ended up staying there nearly the whole game, and when i did leave it was in teamfights and ult ad carry --> obliterate enemy team.
but honestly, for solotop i recommend udyr, olaf, shyvana, riven or yorick.. yorick you really don't do very much for your team in the longrun as, say, riven (2 aoe hard ccs, ult steroid, e shield for more tankiness).
I do play olaf, but for some reason I find some sort of fun with Yorick with that whole being able to farm for free thing. I've always been able to be a huge help in team fights not just as tankiness but as a damage dealer. Running tele flash/tele ignite on him lets me go mock-push a lane or run off and fake an objective or b, a teamfight starts, I tele in and help clean up. Any character can get boring if you play them ad nauseum, that's kind of how I did Olaf (who's still pretty fun, I might add) and I'm sure that's how I'll do Yorick, but I do try switching it up.
I don't know, just can't put my finger on it. He's really fun to me and I really enjoy it. Plus, he's a lot tankier than most champs even when he's built exactly like them. I might add his passive is pretty impressive in that.
