MR of course makes it 200-500 (500 being ranged carries who are going full on AD, and 200 being tanks). you'd only be able to do a good amount of damage to carries, which are moving around at the speed of light if they're ranged, and far away so your cards are easily avoidable

Only void staff gives % magic pen. boots give a flat 20.

And the flat counts before the %.

Meaning, with:

40 flat pen (assuming something like MPen boots and abyssal scepter [which isn't actually entry but is pretty much similar], or a haunting guize, also no runes or masteries)
40% pen
vs 200 MR (reduce 66.67% damage)
=
96 MR (reduce 48.98% damage)


So in total, that's a 17.69% damage increase towards people with 200 MR.

Just played a game and our early game was terrible. It was 14-0 at one point to the enemy. Irelia vote surrendered at 20 and said "wtf surrender idiots"

I said "Wow optimistic kinda guy, aren't you?". I made sure to try and give everyone tips, made sure lux got every blue, warded enemy jungle for buff control and we took every dragon & baron. We ended up winning with a negative champion k/d.
