It seems like the ports are supposed to open outward. AKA I can not fix this myself, as everything must move out and not in. And I can't get anything in to push it out. I'm just sending it back, and when I get the new one, I'm hoping we'll take it to this computer store we go to and he'll install everything for us. I'm not going through anymore stress. I'm tired of this already. Let him do it.

I built a working computer before I even knew what the parts were.
When I was 10.

Oh no! my CD drive covers came dislodged! My hair is falling out!

I wouldn't remember your timezone. Anyway, you got me pretty far. The CPU and heat sink are in. The RAM cards are in, too. The drive is on the stand-off screws and topped off with pan washers. The harddrive is in and plugged. The card reader is also in.

All I have left is the power supply and video card. Hope to see you soon. Love, MegaScience. :3

I'm just scared of loving something up because I didn't pay attention, or taking hours figuring it out.

How old are you now? They're much more complicated now. :3

Try taking a rubber mallet to it. Do that or buy a new front covor for it.

He was like "Oh, the metal parts are temporary." and I'm like "... Wait, they fabricate full, solid metal plates to be forced out later? That's handicapped." So I forced those out, pushed the front, and wham - it's fixed. The only reason I couldn't fix it before was because I thought I needed those metal parts and they were preventing me from getting it to push those back out.

the only thing that scares me when building a comp is installing the mobo.

1 wrong screw or 1 pressed peg to hard or the board touching to much and kill the whole thing.
once its in, its cake tossing the rest together.

I had an impossible time getting it in. There's tons of screw holes, but only certain ones fit. I had to figure out which holes matched when they're side-by-side. Hopefully nothing is touching the wrong spot. I do put the stand off screws first, then the motherboard, then the pan washers right?

Could someone help me find a good, cheap internal disc drive on Newegg? Under $20.

Which of those?

ASUS makes some great products.  Their stuff is usually high quality.

I have an ASUS SATA DVD burner drive.  Works very nicely.

Well then, you suggest one. These reviews are scary.

Every product has bad reviews. ASUS is a good brand, they make good products. Of course there's always a few that go bad, and when they do people are more likely to write a review than if it worked fine.

Bought the ASUS. Until then, I might borrow the barely functional CD drive from this... not even sure it'd fit. The front is all... designed.
