wait how did bob and bill die? left stranded in space?

Just started out and I've learned Jebediah is a true badass.

The Atlas III rocket I made was designed for a scientific mission. However, it suffered a catastrophic failure (In which the parachute failed) and the command module blew up. A week later Jeb appears again and is now taking the lead in orbitals in the Atlas V.

TL:DR
Jeb is the best damn pilot you'll ever get.

I should also mention I now have a command module stranded in orbit around Kerbin.

No, I assume they slammed into Kerbin with such force that the game glitched out shot the camera through the planet into the Mun's orbit. Cause I didn't actually see the smack-down, but they're definitely gone.

thanks to your amateur work 3 professional are dead 10/10 nasa is jealous

Let this be a lesson to test your landers before you send them to faraway places.
And quicksave like a motherforgeter too

I'm no amateur, just careless!

i've started getting into beta than evva, once i get some of the good stuff unlocked i'll start posting pics of my larger rockets

So does a kerbal's skill affect anything?

So does a kerbal's skill affect anything?
yeah it apparently lets them do things. like those new specific controls you can toggle beside the navball to hold the ship prograde, retrograde ect. that's the pilot skill I think. the engineering one lets u repack chutes or fix things. and the other one I forgot. scientists? lets you gather more science? IDK

is it sad that i have never, EVER arrived at any planet other than kerbin (in the case of a failed launch to duna)

yes it is because its actually really easy to get to planets when you realize the tricks. when you get good at it youll look back and laugh

That was me before winter break. I loved KSP, but always felt bad that I had never really achieved anything. I'd say watch some tutorials if you can't figure it out on your own.

The most I have ever achieved was a refuel depot on minmus, a space station in orbit around the moon and kerbin, a rover on eve, and a flyby of Jool.

the dV necessary to get to duna isnt much more than what you need for the mun. play the game more and you'll get better

it's honestly about timing the launch
