By the way, in construction mode, you can right-click on parts containing fuels and resources and adjust how much they are loaded up with. This keeps the cost down, for example, getting rid of monopropellant fuel in the command pod when you don't have RCS thrusters.

Yeah, I knew about that, doesn't seem to make too much of a difference with the way I build rockets.

edit: the srb's actually ended up being so strong they ripped themselves clean of the rocket and blew up

let's try this instead

edit 2: after some accidents involving not having SAS and not having ullage motors, it has come to this

edit 3: after more incidents involving fairing clipping, i removed the top fairing. after even more incidents involving wobbling trajectories, accidental polar orbits and not enough fuel, forget it, i am not going to the mun today
