The first thing I'll be doing in BF3 is go to an empty server (if there is one) and start blowing stuff up to test everything out! :D
Or in campaign just kill all enemies but don't do last objective and just keep restocking on explosives

My computer probably can't handle it (if they even make it for Mac), so I'll try to bother my dad to getting it for my PS3, everything just seems so awesome in this game.
It's not gonna be for mac lol so I'm getting it for eck bawks

Yeah, it'll be awesome for teamwork as it does it's job. Enemy loving up your team? Get some guys to lay down some supressive fire on him so the rest of your teammates can shoot him up.
Or, you know, shoot him yourself. Or flush him out with a grenade. Or drive a vehicle up and kill him with that.

I remember when there didn't need to be any special mechanic for suppressive fire. Simply the presence of bullets whizzing past players' heads was enough to make them either hit the dirt or run for cover. Hell, the tank's MGs thrived on that.

Uhh....

What if it's a camping recon and your team is full of shotguncigarettes?

Assault

The Assault class carries a primary weapon consisting of an assault rifle — like the M4 and AK-47 — and is now merged with the medic class — the Assault class can now heal and revive teammates. It can also function as a more offensive class with ability to swap out the revive kit for a grenade launcher.
The confirmed weapons for the Assault class so far are:

  • M16A4 assault rifle for USMC, AEK-971 for Russian side.
  • M9 sidearm for USMC, MP-443 for Russian.
  • Grenade launcher or defibrillator kit.

Support

The Support class returns to its role it had in Battlefield 2, with its main purpose to provide heavy fire from a Light Machine Gun (like an M249 SAW), and resupply teammates with ammunition. In Battlefield 3, the Support class is broadened with the ability top use lighter weapons and assault rifles like the M4, with several attachments, including a powerful flashlight which has the ability to blind enemies in dark places.
The confirmed weapons of the Support class so far are:

  • M249 SAW for USMC, PKM or RPK for Russian side.
  • M9 sidearm for USMC, MP-443 for Russian.
  • The ability to use lighter weapons with attachments like the M4 or AK-74U.
  • Ammo pack to resupply teammates.
  • Ability to mount LMGs on surfaces for greater accuracy.
Engineer

The Engineer class in Battlefield 3 is very similar to the class in Bad Company 2: its primary role is to engage tanks and armored vehicles with an array of rocket launchers such as the RPG-7 and the AT4, or use anti tank mines. The primary weapon is a carbine rifle, with a variety of unlocks available, ranging from shotguns to sub machine guns.

  • Main heavy weapon includes the AT4 for USMC and RPG-7 for Russian side
  • Primary weapon is a carbine (like an M4 or AK-74U).
  • Rocket launchers can be swapped with anti tank mines.
  • Repair tool for repairing friendly vehicles.
  • M9 sidearm for USMC, MP-443 for Russian.

Recon

The Recon class carries a sniper rifle for long range engagement, but for Battlefield 3, the Recon class has a more active role as well. The Recon also has the ability to call in artillery strikes (expected unlock). Furthermore, the Recon can equip C4 explosives to blow up enemy vehicles or map objectives.
Recon weapons:

  • Semi automatic sniper rifle, MK11 for USMC, SVD for Russian side.
  • Will have a wide variety of team-play oriented gadgets.
  • C4 explosive pack.
  • M9 sidearm for USMC, MP-443 for Russian.

What if what is a camping recon. What game are you talking about.

Also I'm not sure I like these classes, especially Recon (as a whole) and how Support can use assault rifles.

I myself think its good that they merged the classes a bit, the new fetures look really cool.
The SVD is one lovey gun, I'll be using that the most as a Recon.

Then again, http://bf3blog.com isn't the most reliable.

Americans versus Russians?!

woah man, never been done before.

I think it should be in different parts of the world, say Europe. EU forces versus say, African forces.

I don't see why people don't like US vs RU, it doesn't make much of a difference except for weapons.

personally i don't like it because it's cliche and been done 204239 times. also i hate picking sides since russia is just as awesome as the US

What. Who are you talking to. That doesn't respond to anything I asked.

I think it should be in different parts of the world, say Europe. EU forces versus say, African forces.
2142 was the EU versus the Pan-Asian Coalition, which was Russia and Japan and all those other Slavic and Asian countries. There were maps in both Europe (Bridge at Remagen, Minsk, Liberation of Leipzig, Fall of Berlin) and Northern Africa (Suez Cbrown town, Tunis Harbor, Sidi Power Plant)

Hell, BF2 even had China and MEC as playable factions. Now that I remember it, BF2 didn't even feature Russia until one of the expansions. I also think BF2 had some amazing maps (Gulf of Oman and Dalian Plant were my favorites).

It's been done to death. There are other countries out there besides Russia. The Cold War is over.

Why not instead of Russia they use Alkaidah or North Korea (I liked Homefront) or some other threating country, Russians aren't doing stuff to the US today.

you spelled Al Qaeda wrong. anyways they're not strong enough to be interesting in a war. plus teams wouldnt be balanced

True, but they still could have used a different country. I still like North Korea as an enemy.

Hey howcome Canada is never in any war game? Its always America.
