What the forget is this stuff?  Did the machine guns on jet fighters get buffed or some forget?  I've gotten shot down over ten times by forgeters with simple loving machine guns.  I do every single loving turn and roll but I always get shot down by some smug faced scrotum-licker with a loving machine gun.  That stuff used to be almost useless.  Why the forget is it suddenly twenty times better than heat seekers?

The cannon got buffed against infantry only. Also, no serious pilot uses heatseekers since the cannon has always been more effective than heatseekers.

Play in a Japanese server. Japanese players are easy pickings.

I think both games it was the SU35BM Flanker, the Russian jet.  I'm looking at my battle log and I find it odd that I have 13 kills in the Super Hornet but only 5 in the Flanker...

In a helicopter? Not that I know of. I believe if your gunner has flares unlocked he can use them though.
Jets can pray to the Omnissiah and fly directly at the missile and there's a slim chance that the missile will shoot past you. You can't out-turn them though.

I don't care about kills, show me your vehicles destroyed.

By the way in case anyone didn't already know, don't try to dogfight in the F35. Slowing down to turn sharper will lower the engine and leave you hovering or falling. Not to mention it turns like stuff.

Don't know how I got that 5th kill, I think maybe it was actually hitting infantry with the cannon once.

i never bothered with the heat seekers - guided missiles (and to a lesser extent, rocket pods) are far more useful. heat seekers are nearly worthless because everyone has either flares or ecm, so i just shoot their stuff out of the sky with the autocannon.

Your close correlation between kills and destructions leads me to believe that you're dogfighting more than you should be. If so, then that's why you think the seekers are better. That's the only thing seekers are good for. The reason the gun is better is because it can tear other jets apart while allowing you to bring an anti-armor weapon so you can shoot at tanks and APCs on the ground. And it can't be dodged by flares.

Just learn to use the gun.

Guided Missiles lock onto ground vehicles only. If an air vehicles is being painted by a laser designator, the Guided Missiles will lock onto them. Also, Guided Missiles get a huge damage bonus against designated targets.

Also, Guided Missiles get a huge damage bonus against designated targets. Guided Missiles can be fooled by the ECM Jammer (can only break the lock) and IR Smoke.

rocket pods are p hard to use, as they inherit your velocity - you have to compensate a lot for projectile drift.

i pretty much never got an actual kill with them against infantry, but i tended to spray buildings wildly with the rocket pods. once, about a minute after i sprayed some random building with the pods, i got 5 kills when the building crushed a whole squad inside it.

I wanna get a controller, probably an Xbox 360 one, for jets.  Two joysticks for x and y axes instead of the mouse for both would be better.
