I think there is some sort of multiplayer addon that you can download and then play with a few other people. I heard it was kinda buggy. Still, it'd be fun to play this simulator in multiplayer.

Q: Where's the sound?
A: Orbiter doesn't come with sound by default. There is, however, the crucial OrbiterSound mod adds (somewhat) accurate sound to the game.

There's no sound in space.
Sound on a planet's surface, but that's it.
I don't see the need for sound anyway, just play the Oblivion theme in the background and you're good to go.

But the mod doesn't play sound in space, just on planets.

Yes.
And I've used mine to plan "Professional" missions to successful orbits. In realtime. Takes like 20 minutes, though. :S
