Then just get a 5670.
the 4870 is an older card.(right?)
older but still stronger

But would get outdated faster.

i really want the 5670 since it has really low power consumption and it runs games great

i'll probably stick with that and if it's underpowered i'll buy a 400watt PSU later when i get more cash

Can still run any modern game and is cheaper than Futureproof cards

I bought a GeForce GTX 460, brand new, for $150 at Fry's. Well worth the money.

No, if it's underpowered you'll most likely fry your system.

400W decent PSU, and a 6670, which is the best video card that doesn't require an extra PSU connector, and can run off the motherboards' slot only.
If you don't feel like getting the rebate to get down to your $100 mark:

Not as good but still very good for the price.

Just make sure that your motherboard has a PCI-E slot, man.

Get a 5730. They are about 109.99 and will be able to play any game so far on medium/high.
It's pretty much a 4870 with Direct X 11, but I don't know about power usage.

Going from a 300wat PSU to a 400wat PSU, is kind of a waste of money.

Get something like a 500 or 600 watt PSU so you can be future-proof.

The black one.
The white one is just PCI.

is it possible the 5670 won't fit?

By what do you mean "won't fit?"
Like, not fit in case, or not fit in PCI-E slot?

in the slot

like, what if the slot is too big or too small for it? is that possible?
