I'm about to go after this sucker, it's called the Ratslayer, a version of the varmint rifle with all the attachments for it, and a higher crit chance and damage, along with higher DPS.

Just so the question gets answered:

Does anyone know of a mod that allows me to have both EDe and Rex as my companions?
I don't want to travel with any of the human/ghoul/mutant followers.

a varmint rifle with night scope makes an excellent sniper if you can't find/buy the right tools.
just make sure to be hidden when firing, a sneak critical headshot kills most people that aren't super-armored

I have Maria, Thump-Thump, Annabelle, Mysterious Magnum, Lucky, That Gun (does this count as special..?) I had Q35 Plasma Rifle before but I sold it.

easy to get, Mysterious Magnum can be found on Myserious Stranger's (or whatever his name was) body when he's killed. although i think you get Strip Infamy when you do that. you can find him on a crate with a guitar next to a big Sunset Sarsaparilla billboard next to the highway to Vegas.

Lucky can be found in a safe on the first floor, I think it's the safe in the floor in the sort of supermarket-looking room in the Bison Steve's.
