press d for designations than d to mine
select an area b pressing enter and than moving the cursor to another block to create a rectangle to be mined
hitting enter twice will designate just the one square


you shouldn't be trying to learn the game without some sort of tutorial. But once you get the basics down you should be fine.

Finally worked out how to play adventurer mode but...

...got bored, killed off an entire town (losing two legs and my left arm) and then got my spine broken by a bogeyman. *sigh*

Guys, let me get this straight.

Berserk is a kind of insanity. Insane dwarves die no matter what and they CANNOT go insane again. It is IMPOSSIBLE for an insane dwarf to go berserk because it is impossible to go insane a second time. Strange moods are NOT a form of insanity and dwarves will go insane only if they fail the mood.

Berserk = Insanity
Strange Mood =/= Insanity

Spears are fun. On adv. mode, ask to sleep in someone's house until night. Then, attack them and bash their heads. All asleep, easy killing and free items =D.

This game is boring. Just a huge eye sore and only fun if you like reading whats going on. Maybe if it was 3d graphics and you could tell the difference between things it would help.
