I'm sure the only company not to do so would possibly be valve

Half-Life and Left 4 Dead.

I guarantee there is going to be a Left 4 Dead 3 at some point.

Half-Life and Left 4 Dead.
Half-Life to Half-Life 2 are very different games. Unless you're referring to the expansions made by Gearbox or the Episodes for 2.

It's a sequel guys, what did you expect?

A new game? I'm sorry but you can't just use the exact same UI, grab a bunch of buildings from MW1 & 2, stick in some new weapons, slap it together and call it a new game. I'm really dissapointed as I was looking forward to this.

I was almost expecting Fallout: New Vegas to look exactly like Fallout 3 but I was entirely wrong. At least there was new vehicles, buildings, items, gameplay, weapons, story, etc.

They brought some things over from Fallout 3 but everything else was made from scratch.

Half-Life
Deathmatch Classic ~~~ I forgot if this was Half Life or not.
I consider these the same game, since Deathmatch Classic was pretty much just a competitive Multiplayer for HL1. Also wasn't it free if you had HL1?

Half-Life: Opposing Force
Half-Life: Blue Shift
Were expansions. Opposing Force told the same story from a completely different viewpoint and included new weapons and enemies.
Blue Shift is almost universally regarded as awful.

Half-Life: Source
Half-Life Deathmatch: Source
Nobody can deny that this was a carbon copy, but the whole point was just to put HL1 on the Source engine.

Half-Life 2
Half-Life 2: Deathmatch
New engine, new weapons, new enemies, new characters, frustratingly new story. Also I think Deathmatch was free if you had HL2.

Half-Life 2: Lost Coast
Wasn't that free? I swear I had it before I ever bought a Steam game.

Half-Life 2: Episode One
Half-Life 2: Episode Two
Weren't sold at full price as completely new games.

I may have been wrong about the deathmatch games being free if you had the core game, but the points about EP1 and 2 are still valid. They were designed from the start to just be expansion packs that continued the story after the game had been released and unlike some instances of story-continuing expansion packs (or DLC) they weren't withholding content.

In retrospect, the "same thing = bad" idea seems to mainly apply to multiplayer-oriented games.

I don't think so because a lot of people want to go back to the way how 90s FPS were.

The osprey hovers in MP with its propellers forward instead of upward, and they don't even spin.

wat.

-Now wondering why you would post in a topic about a game you dislike.

So you payed 60$ for bugfixes?

Lol, no not bugfixes. I meant that they fixed all the problems and made this CoD fun.

Anyone on Xbox want to play Spec Ops Survival at some point? Nobody I know will play it with me.

You mean all the problems they could of fixed in a free patch to MW2?

>nothing new in MW3

Oh sure, there's totally nothing new like weapon proficiency or weapon levels or revamped killstreaks or any new gamemodes or a prestige shop or any cool new features other than bugfixes and reskins.

Sure, but this isn't worth a whole new game that costs $60

I want this so badly :o
