Yeah you just live in one of the worst tornado states in the country, if not the worst.

Tornadoes don't last that long and aren't as dangerous as hurricanes.

Tell that to an F5.
And what do you mean not as dangerous?
That is like saying a handgun isn't as dangerous because it doesn't have as much spread.

I live in a red zone on that map :C
Right next to St. Louis.

hah we got out in time
(my plane, yesterday)

my mom says they're comparing this to a 1990s hurricane where my neighborhood lost power for 5 days

Don't be such a pusillanimous individual.

Tornadoes are easily avoidable.

Your logic is terrible.
Tornadoes are hardly avoidable because they are unpredictable.
I would believe you if you were some sort of master tornado wrestler instead of some questionable age guy who play a lego game.

If you are joking, this disregard the above text entirely.

That's why you have shelters.

That's why you have shelters.
....
Tornadoes last for a minute...
Questionable weather is happening... Tornado instantly touches near your house... "Guess we should go outside and get to that shelter  :cookieMonster:"

I consider tornadoes more dangerous. Looking up some statistics, tornadoes kill and average of 60 people per year in the US, whereas hurricanes kill 23. Hurricanes may be more prolonged, but tornadoes are much more intense and cause large amounts of damage in a very short amount of time. Plus, you are warned many days in advance of hurricanes, so you have plenty of time to prepare. Tornadoes pop up rather sporadically so you're given minutes warning, and at most an hour based on storm cell predictions.

My Dad is getting all whiny and Jinxing us into a power outage in the next two days. forget. Well, now that he's Jinxed us, I might be gone for a while.

It's like that one time when they said on the radio that wild boars kill more people than wolves or something. What they didn't say is that we have stuffloads of wild boars and almost no wolves. Do you have any more statistics?
