Author Topic: Suggestions for next Blockland update.  (Read 3382 times)

My suggestion for the next update is to have at least one more digit for numbers.
6 digits is not enough.

And now I'm confused. What?

Agreed. Sadly Badspot is too lazy to release v20 as there are no major bugs to fix.
Are you kidding me? V18 and V19, have been the most buggy for me ever.
For starters, ever hear of the "Sqlite Error" somone had to make a whole guide for it, pretty bad I know, but I'm just getting started.

Then theres the "Cache DB Error", which I really really hate.

And of course, don't forget "Malloc Error"

Ontopic: Oh and can't forget one of my personal errors I encounter from time to time "Segmentation fault"

Yawn, and the "Bus error" that one's a bitch.

Well I could go on like this for much longer but I should probably cut it short, but just 1 more thing I might mention. About 90% of the blockland mac users that host, can't fluidly host, going by some vehicles makes them crash, some emitters instantly crash them, hell and even some weapons. But they can support thousands upon thousands of bricks, so at least thats good. Anyway.....

Next Blockland Update should also have inverted ramp bricks on the base download.

Yeah... The SQLite error, I got it when it couldnt write to my cache (I run from a flash drive) cause the drive was full.

What is Malloc error?

And I have a new idea that may let me free-crash servers, thusly FORCING badspot to get his lazy ass moving. If it works... well...

*insert ominous music here*

isn't that like saying you're going to troll almost? in the sense that it's bannable? maybe not. if you crash my server on the rare occasion it's up i'm kicking your ass

No, no, I would just test it once on one or two servers. If it worked I would inform Badspot that a major abusable glitch exists that allows people to pull server crashing sh*t. I would not use it on someone for no reason, and I would ask permission to test a possible server crash glitch BEFORE pulling it.

From what I can think of right now, all I want is a more effective censor chat.

ideas: SET COLORS ON ITEMS. that way we could have like, tea colored weapons and such or camo without having to waste datablocks like how playertypes do it.

pusillanimous individual?

hey guess what

badspot reads things.
although you probably won't be banned because you lack the skill to create something that simple.

You cannot crash a server, only lag out clients.
Anyway on-topic: I would also like the idea to change an items color, also a wider range of the colorsets, and effects would be neat.

Exactly. And if he reads things, good for him. I would just be checking to see if such a bug exists, not abusing it. If it did exist I would notify Badspot and never pull it again. And you never know, I might just get lucky. It doesnt work the way you would expect. It all depends on how blockland handles a certain thing...

Unless of course I cannot figure out either a gui or a prefs file, in which case it will all be a moot point.

But if it DOESNT crash the server, and it works the same way that another aspect works, than we gonna need to edit a forum header.

I am planning on the test this saturday. And it might be able to screw up the host; depends on how it works.

DUN Dun DUUUUUUUNNNNNN!!!!!!!

Stupid reply is stupid.

I doubt Badspot would come out with an entirely new update just because of a bug you think you found. And one that will never be used unless your an idiot and tell every how to do it.

You cannot crash a server, only lag out clients.
Unless the server isn't dedicated. Then you can crash the host, and therefore the server.

difficult to crash the host, overall though

Clients lag out due to 'connection timed out' as in, they haven't gotten a response from the server for too long.

The host is immune to this because the host of a non-dedicated server IS the non-dedicated server.
