It is perspective. Once you start doing stuff that you aren't supposed to do, there really is a furry (lol) line between, oh, let's say abusing a glitch and hacking.
I was using the discussion I had about loading vs buildbot as an example of how things that are actually defined rigidly by code can still be percieved differently by people, and without those people necessarily being wrong.
It's not perspective.
Hacking is doing something you're not supposed to be able to do using third party programs or 'instructions'.
We are given the option to:
-Script, using torquescript, to make add-ons which will run when the game starts up, or when the server starts up
-Send commands to the server using said scripts.
Every form of 'hacking' that has been done so far was either just phishing for e-mail information, or using scripts. Sure people have done things they weren't supposed to be doing, but that doesn't mean it was hacking.
