Of COURSE you buy the brand, but Dell makes parts that don't break or wear out over the same time as many other brand names.  Sure, you can't replace them with anything that isn't Dell (Which... is why I seriously loving hate Dell) but the Alienware will run just as fast as when you first get it for several years without any slowdown.

...note, I'm not denying it's overpriced.  I offered it as a joke, seeing as it's the most expensive brand other than the Falcon.

Dell builds their computers really bad. Alienware especially are really unreliable. Just a really expensive paperweight 6 months down the line.

By then, if I don't spend any money, I should have nearly enough ($270) for the computer.

selling lemonade introduces the concept of profit - when you mow lawns you can just use their lawn mower because who the hell doesn't have a lawn mower? much less risk.

family members may not take him as seriously - it's like "aww you're cute you helped me here's $5", in contrast to helping a stranger/whoever where they would take you seriously if you get the job done well
