Author Topic: Decent and cheap computer?  (Read 1928 times)

you said you could maybe go for a $500 one at first, but you're looking at 100-200 ranged ones lol. that's all I meant by that :P
No, the first time I asked my parents for a $500 pc, they said no.

then why does OP say you're looking for one below 500? that includes 499  :cookieMonster:

Cheap computer: get a $1 hooker to hold a calculator

each breast-touch means to add a random decimal

Of COURSE you buy the brand, but Dell makes parts that don't break or wear out over the same time as many other brand names.  Sure, you can't replace them with anything that isn't Dell (Which... is why I seriously loving hate Dell) but the Alienware will run just as fast as when you first get it for several years without any slowdown.

...note, I'm not denying it's overpriced.  I offered it as a joke, seeing as it's the most expensive brand other than the Falcon.
No.
Dell builds their computers really bad. Alienware especially are really unreliable. Just a really expensive paperweight 6 months down the line.

this one doesn't seem too bad

this one is $300 off, and is much better
The Compaq would be better for gaming due to the GPU.

I'll ask about the compaq PC.

If no, then I guess I can't get anything decent under that price.

completely overlooked GPU lol. oops  :cookieMonster:

I meant CYBERPOWERPC.

Cyberpower has so many bad reviews that it makes my balls itch.

So, I had my eye on the Compaq PC.

My mom said I'd have to buy it myself at a $5 /per week allowance, that currently I am not getting. This means saving up for an entire year. (Next September)

By then, if I don't spend any money, I should have nearly enough ($270) for the computer.

Should I go along and ask for an allowance for the computer? I'm really wanting a new computer.

how old are you? just get a job and you can make the money in 2 weeks time (if your minimum wage wherever you live isn't stuffty)

if you're too young for that then mow some lawns. seriously.

yeah because mowing lawns it TOTALLY the only way for a young man to make money. god selling lemonade and helping out various family members to SO mainstream.

On-topic: There are plenty of ways to make money. I was a caddy when I was 13 for a local country club. Money then started rolling in (kinda).

I have a computer that's like 560 bucks, would run those games fine. They're loving great computers, but overpriced.

Try iBuyPower or Lenovo.
NINJA: I meant CYBERPOWERPC.
My dad told me that from his experience with my DoA computer, CYBERPOWERPC's customer support is terrible.

selling lemonade introduces the concept of profit - when you mow lawns you can just use their lawn mower because who the hell doesn't have a lawn mower? much less risk.

family members may not take him as seriously - it's like "aww you're cute you helped me here's $5", in contrast to helping a stranger/whoever where they would take you seriously if you get the job done well
