Yeah I could get mods, then there is a chance the mods could royally forget up my entire game.

Also once I start using mods I can't go back because my save file will no longer work if I do not have the appropriate mods enabled AND some mods conflict with other mods.

I had like 94 mods enabled for Oblivion and of those only one could possibly break my save, and that's only if I disabled it while in a town. Items might disappear from my inventory but the save will load fine.

I have somehow managed to go this entire time without knowing what Skyrim is other than another Elder Scrolls game. I guess I should look into this.

How did you manage to be so uninformed.
At least watch the Skyrim demo, it should be on Bethesda's YouTube or the Skyrim blog.

I hear they're quite good though. Quick question before I go watch that, is the character animation still as abysmally bad as the Fallout games?

Yes, except in skyrim. From what I'm seeing Skyrim has pretty nice animations.

In oblivion almost everyone is a robot. They all usually say the exact same thing and they have limited responses. I haven't seen enough of skyrim to make an opinion on the NPCs yet.
