Is it possible to drop items then drag them around? Like so I can drop my iron ingot and place it on my shelf without constantly dropping and picking it up trying to make it land on the right spot.

if you're on pc hold down e to move it around

there's also a telekinesis spell somewhere

Best wife is Aela The Huntress. And I never bring companions with me so I wouldn't know.

how to level up things for granted

needed:
gold
a follower you can train from

speak with companion and ask him to train you
then trade with him and take the gold

rinse and repeat

Also I stuck with Lydia since the beginning so idk about companions, Im pretty sure theyre the same for the most part too.
