I shout a lot everywhere, and no letters from a "friend" have arrived recently. All I can do is ask around for quests and hope I get lucky.

Iron > Steel > Dwenmer > Orcish > Ebony > Dragon > Daedric

i don't care what the smithing perk says, Daedric has a bigger armor rating than dragon.

According to the wiki, if you fully upgrade the Dragon armor while loaded up on smithing improvement stuff, and fully upgrade the Daedric armor the same way, the Dragon armor will actually have a better armor rating than the Daedric. That makes it worth more, lighter, have better defense, and easier to make.
