When you get past the small cast, poor character models, and terrifying conversation system ("Lol assassins attacked my sons, and I'm next :D"), Oblivion is simply better than Skyrim.
Maybe it's the nostalgia, or maybe it's because Bethesda was too busy feeling proud of their Radiant Story to put Oblivion's effort into Skyrim.

I remember going to a quest to assassinate a vampire once.
I talked to him, he got mad.
And then I spawned the mudcrab.
He ran like a little baby girl.

I do agree, Oblivion had a more diverse experience to it, while Skyrim is graphically stunning and the game mechanics are obviously better.

Bethesda should make the next game with both Skyrim and Oblivion in mind.

TES VI:
SKYBLIVION

But uh, you know whats weird?
When Oblivion came out, several people said that Morrowind was the better game.
When Skyrim came out, several people said that Oblivion was the better game.
When TESVI comes out, will we be saying that Skyrim is the better game?

Is every game worse than its predecessor?

Are we all hipsters?

Was George Washington a Russian spy?

From the look of it I don't really think I like Oblivion.

But I love Cyrodil

It'd be a bit hard to love Oblivion after first playing Skyrim, I understand.

Yes.

Anyways, I plan on playing a lot of Skyrim when I get home. I found a hardcore mod almost exactly like FONVs :D

What I like in TES games is how easy it is to exploit the leveling system.
I just went from 25 to 100 in Alchemy in fifteen minutes, by duplicating aloe and apples to make hundreds of Restore Fatigue potions.

I like the fact that you're allowed to do that.

I got 100 in aerobics or whatever it's called just from bunny hopping everywhere.

Here we go with the nostalgic stuff.
Do you instantly have to be forgeted?

Haha. Yeah, thats one of my favourite things about oblivion.
Or the way you could level Sneak by going into sneak mode and putting a rock on the 'W' key.
