It doesn't try too hard to feel realistic. It feels like what a true fantasy world should be.

I think skyrim was a lot more serious :I
but oblivion was ridiculous in a lot of accidental ways...

Plus it had Shivering Isles, how I love me some Shivering Isles.
There's something about the characters that I love.

Not to mention Dumag gro-Bonk and Caldana Monrius, and of course Sheogorath.

the part with sheogorath in skyrim just seemed to me like they tried to fit in as much silly stuff as they could in the shortest amount of time

I felt more accomplished and more "at-home" when I bought the house in Cheydinhal than I ever did with any Skyrim house. Including Hearthfire houses.

hearthfire homes are just a lot of tediousness, if you ask me :L

1.9. No more exploiting the Oghma Infinium. I'll actually have to play the game like a normal person.

Holy stuff. I just started the Dawnguard quest line and I'm on the first mission they send you. There are of course two ways to complete it but I had no idea what I was doing was actually for the vampires. (My plan was to join them all along so no harm done there.) When I finished the vampire friendly side of that quest I actually said aloud "holy stuff". This is why I loving love the TES games. Sometimes they just throw crazy at you but that stuff is so cool. Talking to the vampire was also really fascinating. I so want to hear more right this second. Better get escorting.

Mmm-mm, the ending to that quest line was pretty okay.

I just forgeted around with some stuff in the hopes of getting oblivion to run on my computer (for some reason the game would either not run at all, or have absolute stuff frame rates, despite being able to run Skyrim at max settings and some graphical mods) and now the game seems to be running smoothly.

I'm pretty excited to get back into oblivion; I've played so much Skyrim recently that I need a change in scenery, but still want to play the same style of game. It's also been long enough since I've played oblivion that I've forgotten a lot of the quests and stuff.
I'll be installing a variety of mods once I make sure that the game is actually running smoothly.

I can run Skyrim on mid to high settings, but I couldn't play for the longest time because I had it on fullscreen mode, and apparently that was glitched.

How silly of me to think Bethesda would force such a decision on you. There is only one way to complete the quest and you have to visit the vampire hideout in order to proceed even if you don't want to join the vampires.

You only do it to deliver Serana, not to join the vamps.
