Bottlenecking only has to do with CPU and GPU, essentially.

And the 500W will run it fine.

But, will what I posted be fine or what?

To stop confusion, if I get

and

what will happen?
good performance or bottlenecking?
Bottlenecking quite bad with that GPU on an old Athlon.
And that PSU there is the one I meant. It's adequate for the cards I mentioned.

So, if I did that it would bottleneck?
Can you post the PSU you were talking about?

Well, you should be alright, though there may be a bit more of bottlenecking in more CPU intensive games.

Go to canirunit.com and look at Battlefield 3.

Look at CPU and see what it says.

EDIT: You pass minimum but do not meet recommended.

Minimum is dual core 2.0 GHz and you're at 3.0 GHz. That means you should be fine at medium or low settings. Most likely medium at your resolution.

With the other things?
I'm not talking about mine.
Either way, I tried playing it and I turned ALL my settings down to low, still got about 11 FPS.

With the dual core 3.0? Then that would be because of integrated graphics you have.

And yes with the other things, due to CPU bottlenecking, you'll be stuck at medium settings, maybe a tad higher on some things at your resolution.

Are you serious? With the Radeon 6850?

Yes, as I said before, this is due to CPU bottlenecking.

No matter if you have the best GPU on the market, costing 700 dollars, you'll still be stuck at medium or so due to your CPU.

Ugh.
What will work fine, then?
This is so confusing and annoying.

Just upgrade your GPU and PSU.

Then later on upgrade your CPU.
