Can anyone recommend a ~$200 video card? Will pay more if price/performance boost is significant. Don't care if nvidia or ati.

Specs if you want: http://i.imgur.com/USEfm.png http://i.imgur.com/sPRpF.png power supply
Will also be buying 4gb more ram,
I'm going to take a stab at this and say the 7850. I don't think PowerColor is too great but it should do fine. If you want a Sapphire card for $10 less, I would do the 6950. The 6950 may be a series below the 7850 but should have more punch. The 6950 has more stream processors but a lightly slower core clock. If I were you I'd take the 6950. It takes less power and might be the only one that would work with your CPU.

you could try a 650Ti or 560Ti

finally finished building my brother's comp (had a $540 budget so its not anything great)

parts:
Case: Fractal Design Core 1000
CPU: AMD Phenom II Quad-Core

GPU: I ordered one that wasnt compatible with the mobo like a derp, so I'm waiting for the return to go through before getting another (if anyone knows a decent gpu $100 or so max that fits a pci express 2.0 x 16 slot that'd be awesome)

Mobo: ASRock 960GM

PSU: Cooler Master 500W (think i overdid it here)

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 500GB SATA3

RAM: Kingston Hyperx 8 GB (2x4GB)

What about video card benchmarks? I've never really used them before; are they a reliable figure to go off of? What 's the best site to compare?

they're reliable depending on where you get them from. good numbers to look at are 3D Mark 11 scores, and benchmarks of various games.

3D Mark is the most common, and probably best one out there. Does a real good job.

Heaven DX11 Benchmark
3D Mark 11
3D Mark Vantage

and games if you have them,
Metro 2033
Dirt 3
Crysis 2
Battlefield 3

I was thinking more like websites where benchmarks for a bunch of different cards are posted and you can compare them
I've found several but they all have slightly different rankings so I'm asking which sites are more reliable

Hey guys, I'm planning on switching keyboards really soon, and I plan on using them for gaming and my current Microsoft Sidewinder X6 actually has been ghosting, which is really disappointing for a gaming keyboard. Can you guys give me any suggestions? I'm currently looking at the Rosewill Illuminated Mechanical Gaming Keyboard I heard Rosewill was pretty good, but I want to hear your input.

That one is pretty good. Rosewill has been making some really nice products lately. But if you have the money, and want a keyboard that will last for almost an eternity, I would suggest the Gigabyte Aivia Osmium. Its $129.99 but its built like a tank and has probably the best quality keys on any keyboard. The keys have a sort of rubberized surface and the body is a type of matte black, so no glossy plastic looking crap. It has laser etched keys so the key print will never disappear. It also has blue back-lighting with a control wheel for the brightness as well as another wheel for volume adjust. 5 different profiles for macro setups etc. A USB 3.0 hub, audio and mic inputs, and a huge removable wrist rest.

-Minecraft
-Maplestory

Will be adding 4GB(total 8) ram to either, but no SSD(maybe in a year or so).
Would like it to last until highshool is over(I'm a freshman).

So I might build a computer for my Uncle soon. It would just be a normal computer for everyday stuff. What would be a good powersupply for a build like that?
I was thinking this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139027
It says 500w but some reviews are saying it's actully 400w. Would a 400watt still be good for a low cost build?

I'd say the second one.

try this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371016

$10 more (or $30 more if you were to go for the rebates on the one you chose), but it's 550w instead of 500w, and it's modular which is a nice advantage

Ok. I want to be sure that their build would have good products to last a while.
