is this lovey?
Meh, it's ok.
Also, 430W PSU for a 6990? No. You'd need at least 800 or so.

I'm looking around for a prebuilt in the 500-650 price range, are these any good?

Yes. Oddly enough the first one is better and cheaper though.

Is this good ethan?
Oh god that's aweful. $450? That there is like 7 year old technology. You could get a decent gaming rig for $450.

My SSD came in.

Imagine the hottest woman you know. Now imagine you are having love with her

and
you
get
to
do
brown town

That is what using an SSD is like.
I know. I have one on both systems. They're awesome, right?

I have a problem with either all 3 of my earbud pairs or the jack connector itself, but it happened today. I have to push down the connector end of the earbuds lightly for sound to come out of both earbuds. If I dont push down, either sound comes from only the right side or theres not sound at all. Ive tested it with 2 other pairs, it happens with both of them and intuition is starting to tell me its the connector. How do I fix?
Is there one on the back you can use?

New motherboard and 4GB of DDR3 memory...
Or same motherboard and 8GB of DDR2 memory?
That's a hard one.

Since christmas is coming up, I need to put a few things on my list.

So, I'd love to do a lot of recording of games and stuff, and I'm going to hook up a second monitor, but I would need a better video card for recording all this new stuff.

So yeah. I know I'd need to update my PSU if I wanted a new video card.
I'm just looking for the best thing avalible for $400~. Both the PSU and GPU.

Whether the video card is Nvidia or AMD I don't really care, as long as it's compatible with what I have.

I also have no idea what my motherboard "model" is, but if needed, I could find it.
I need to know your mobo model, and how big your case is (can it fit a full size, 10 or so inch long dual slot GPU, and can it fit a standard ATX PSU).

Ok, how would I go out finding the mobo model.

My case dimensions are

14inL x 7inW x 13H

Thats what I see from the inside.

Looks like a prebuilt. Give me the model of the system.

It is.
The one link I could find.
If that isn't helpful, the model is a Gateway DX4840-01c

Looks like a standard PSU and an M-ATX board.

I powered up my system and walked away for like five seconds. When I came back my OS was fully loaded and operational. Holy damn.

My broken HDD came with a five year warranty apparently that was good until July 2014 so I filed an RMA for it. Monday I'll take it to the UPS store to ship back and hopefully have another drive available for side storage.

For that price I would want at least an unlocked CPU, an SSD, and a Z68 board. You could do better.

I noticed you put "2x" beside your RAM - why do you need 16GB? If you're only using it for gaming then you need 8GB at most, but if you're doing rendering or other intensive tasks then I see why you might need 16GB.

I totally agree.

The latest motherboard chipset is always advised when getting a new motherboard.

P67 had a problem (I'm not entirely sure). I'm sure there is more information on a site like Wikipedia.

Edit:

More info on P67

Woah, the second generation Inspiron 17Rs are over $600 off, putting the price at $750, which is pretty damn good for the specs.

I can participate!
I'm using a computer right now!

If it's anything like a standard Micro ATX case, it should fit a 5850 or similar at a bit of a squeeze (retracting back in to the hard drive bays, lol).
But it looks like it's actually quite roomy considering.
I'll get some suggestions for you soon.

Does the warranty include any kind of data retrieval, or do they say it's your fault?

is a Radeon 5700 a very good graphics card? Because it is what I have right now.

Update your drivers, it should update.
