Thanks. Any PSU suggestions as well? To go with the GPU I mean.

Any cheap upgrades that'll allow my rig to run Skyrim at Medium-High settings?

I also have a Blu-Ray burner and 6 USB 3.0 ports.
and 8 fans.
oh and 1.5 TB storage (Didn't need more)
built it myself

I've heard skyrim is reliant on a good cpu Stocking so maybe you should look into upgrading that.

Lol, I keep asking questions when it's about 1:00 in the morning where you live and then they get hidden behind other comments, So here it is again!

So I should just go ahead and order that card?
I really REALLY want to make sure it's going to work.

Uh, did you plug in the power cords? The 6870 requires 2 6-pin PCI-E power cords.

....

My last card didn't need external power from the psu so I figured this one wouldn't. Closer inspection reveals that I need 500w for the card. Mine is 350w. I'll order a new psu with two pci-e slots I guess, gonna cost me though.

you mean two 6 pin GPU power wires not PCI-E slots

You'd want a better video card. I'm not exactly sure how CPU heavy the game is, but I know that video card will need updating. What budget did you have in mind?

What card? Sorry.
Have you made sure all parameters are met?

Uh, it'll need about 550W or 600W good quality PSU. I can't believe you didn't research this stuff before you went and bought it.
This one is great, and quite cheap:

Whats the best CPU I can get for a 989 rPGA Socket? And how good is Arrandale?

1. That's quite a bad and old computer.
2. Censoring your PC name won't do stuff. If anyone wants to do anything to your computer/network, that's the last thing they want.

Just got back from pc world with a corsair cx600. Works a charm, skyrim on high settings feels lovely. Thanks for the graphics card recomendation by Nickelob and Ethan :)

Damn, next time I want to upgrade my GPU I'll need a new PSU as well, I have a high quality OCZ 550w Fatal1ty, but won't be able to handle two 6870s in crossfire probably :C
