I can see "912x768" pixels :x It's a 1366x768 screen

Monitor problem, sorry man.
Could be a connection, open her up and fiddle with the connections if you're comfortable doing that. Make sure to not do it on carpet and make sure to ground yourself to avoid static electricity charges.
If that doesn't work, buy a replacement screen for it. They are quite cheap.

or press the power button once. Do not hold, just tap it.

No I mean, the tower won't shut off.
I haven't hooked it up to a monitor or given it an OS yet. It's just a tower for now.

I press the power button and it turns on. I press it again and nothing happens. I press and hold it, and nothing happens.

as of yesterday my speakers stopped working and my audio manger will only pick up and speaker config in the form of stereo would updating my audio drivers help this?

You won't be maxing out every game but it's pretty good. What do you plan on playing?
