How the hell do you get your case so clutter-free? Mine has wires everywhere. :C
Power supply is modular.

Power supply is modular.

Oh, I see now.
So jelly. Mine is nice but I have to stuff my wires in the CD drive bays because the wires are braided really thick so I can't properly place them for airflow.

okay, you should have more than ample room for that cooler.

I know I will have enough space, but the only thing I'm worried about is it contacting the RAM sticks :/ I don't want that. I mean, i'm filling all 4 slots.

Is that a Cooler Master HAF case there, Spread? Nice.

I have to do this too, lol
2 wires with 4 molex connectors and a FDD connector on each takes a lot of room just hanging.

If I was to have a decent graphics card at like £120, what would it be?

Because I have a GT430 at the moment and it isn't the best on blockland when it goes over 30k bricks.

Even mine doesn't do it well after 30K, and your video card is way better than my current.
It's likely Blockland or something. I'd get 20FPS with 50K bricks loaded but I could get 40+ FPS running L4D2 on all max with native res.

asdfasdfasdfasdfasdf

What do you mean your GPU is dieing?

What do you mean your GPU is dieing?
Artifacts, Aero Transparency giving out constantly, and there's some weird line going through every solid colour on the left side of it.
I've had 2 video cards die on me. I'm pretty sure my current is dying too.

Instead of an h80 I would reccomend a nocuta nh d14. I had an h70 which is pretty similar and the noctua is much better.
Yeah, Noctua's are great and aren't even watercooled.
There's a cooler that just was released from a competitor, which actually beats the Noctua by quite a margin. It looks similar in design but the colors are better. I forget what it was called, sorry.

Kinda worried about this. I had left my computer on Sleep mode when I went to go to school this morning. When I came back, the little orange light thing that means it's on sleep was off. So, I pressed the power button, and it took me to a black screen that said, 'Please choose the Operating System you would like to use.'. The only OS I have it Windows 7. What's going on?
Sleep mode is still buggy. You'd think they would've fixed it now.
I wouldn't use sleep mode unless you're on a laptop (are you?).
I can't use sleep mode on my workstation with the top range logitech peripherals, as under both Vista and 7, resuming from sleep mode causes a bad case of sticky keys that can't be fixed.

Installed my new graphics card. I'll abridge the whole ordeal for viewing enjoyment.

1. Oh man, there's a newegg box on my bed!

2.  Unceremoniously rip out all dongles and monitor plugs, unplug computer and open 'er up.

3. hHOW DO I REMOVE THE OLD ONE

4. Manage to gingerly pry the old card out without snapping my motherboard.

5. ooOOOOH NO IT DOESN'T FIT

6. Smash out the tab on the back so it fits, barely wedging the card b'tween the RAM and the heatsink

7. Oh no, where is the matching power supply plugs >:OO. commence sulking and petting cats

8. Find matching plugs after attacking zip-ties with bolt cutter

9. Computer's on in 640x480, trudging through the process of fixin' the software

10. Immediately start FO:NV and make a nerdy character called "PCGAMIER PRO", whilst admiring the smooth FPS
Gratz.
First time upgrade it seems for you. Always a great accomplishment and an awesome feeling to have done it yourself :)

Would you consider I get the H80 or a Heatsink Fan? I mean, with the build I am going for a clean White, Black, Blue colored theme. Maybe some parts have a tad of red but meh.
The H80 is really great and quite silent. I'd personally go for that as well because of less weight on the CPU/mobo. Good air coolers are heavy.

whats better.
1. A Server Computer with one processor with a High Clock speed or
2. A Server Computer with 2 processors with a low clock speed
Depends what you are doing.
More cores is better for multiple servers and more clients joining.

uugh I need a new processor, stat

athlon II x2 is a tad bit too weak for my purposes so I might move up to a quad or hex when I have the money

also I have a question: how does RAM really work? I think I might of read that it's not just the amount of gigabytes of RAM you have but other things, such as the amount of actual sticks and placement. wondering because I'd like to get two 4gb sticks to make the most out of my teeny motherboard
Not really.
Speed is important, but most newer platforms are going to be fine in that department.

My birthday's in April. Hopefully I'll get a respectable amount of money for an upgrade because it's seriously ridiculous how 99% or so of my processor is used when benchmarking GTA IV >:O
Just do remember that you will need a new motherboard if you are upgrading to an Intel or maybe even a Phenom II as I'm not sure what Athlon II type you have. Might be AM2.

The Phenom II x4 series is pretty good, apparently you can unlock the fifth and sixth cores on certain models as well since the x4 series is based on the x6 series but with the last two cores locked off for some reason
On the 960T Zosna or whatever it is called, yeah. It's a 6 core with 2 locked cores.

Well, my parts came in today. I installed everything then when I tried to install windows, I got to the hard drive screen, and it said I couldn't install or format the hard drive because it wasn't NTFS or something along that. The thing is, I already have Ubuntu installed on my PC, so how would I format my hard drive?
Is there any tools to change file systems for Ubuntu?
I don't believe Ubuntu uses NTFS, but you will need to either convert your drive to NTFS or format with NTFS. There must be a tool somewhere.

-nevermind-

These models support the unlocking of 2 extra cores; Phenom II X4 650T, Phenom II X4 840T, Phenom II X4 960T and Phenom II X4 970T.
Don't get why they'd lock 2 of the cores instead of selling it as a 6 core processor, but whatever
Some CPU cores were defective. Also there were for some reason people in the market for a 4 core instead of a 6 core so some with 6 perfectly working cores were made 4 core because of a gap in the market. I don't understand that part.

IMO only use liquid cooling if you have a CPU that normally runs hot on it's stock processor.  If you mess up ANYWHERE on the liquid cooling water will spew out and fry your board.
Premade loops like the H80 are really hard to forget up. It's easier to install than a normal heatsink IMO.

I also need to connect to the internet. But the motherboard I selected does not have an Ethernet port. What do?
What? Really?
That's extremely rare. Are you sure?

is it ok if i take the cover off of my sub woofer and use it
and if i put a car speaker in it will it give me more thump?
Yes, you are able to take off the cover and it won't affect anything.
Not really. Subwoofers are really the best for bass.

Ok so, I got my new router and connected it to my modem and computer, but I can't access my router page. It's a Linksys router so the default gateway should start with 192. Mine is 10.0.1.1. When I try to go to either of these pages in a browser, it doesn't load. Am I doing something wrong? I have noticed a huge speed increase in my internet, though.

Here's my setup:

Start > Run > cmd > ipconfig /all
Default gateway is there.

Restoring my Old Laptop to factory settings using Dell DataSafe Local BackUp. Its going much faster than I expected.
ew

So, is there a big difference between the 6670 and the 6750?
Not a big difference.
You can get a version of both that require no extra PSU power. However the 6750 is quite a bit better. Look at some benchmarks.

Ethan, would this CPU Heatsink and Fan be a good choice for a cheap way of OC a i7-2600k to about 4.2GHz? Also will it fit on this motherboard without disrupting anything like the ram?

Heatsink:

Mobo:

RAM:

That is quite a beast but it should clear the RAM, just.

yes it will be fine for overclocking to 4.2 (for the love of god, stability test it), and yes you will be fine with that motherboard that cooler actually looks really big. you might lose a RAM slot but don't quote me on that.
Also, a good stability test is Prime95 torture test for 24 hours.

Cable management :P

Because I have a GT430 at the moment and it isn't the best on blockland when it goes over 30k bricks.
What's your CPU? Doesn't sound like your GPU as that's rather decent. Post your full specs for me.

Start > Run > dxdiag
Post entire contents of first tab and display tab.

On my single GPU system I can get at least 70fps on max brick limit (128k) with not a good CPU. It's only a HD5850.
What is your GPU? Must suck.

Is that a Cooler Master HAF case there, Spread? Nice.

yes, HAF 922 :)

Version of 6750 that doesn't require power from powersupply?

I can't imagine that would exist
